Jute, craftsmanship with a story

The burlap sack. Since 1932, this product has run like a jute thread through TradeMax’s history. Jute is strong and has ventilating and absorbent properties. This makes it absorb moisture, for example from mussels when packed in burlap bags. Burlap contracts again when dry, giving the mussel less space in the bag and keeping it closed better. Jute also has a protective effect. The wire makes a product, such as the skin of potatoes, less likely to get damaged.

The strength and transparency of the jute bag depends on the mesh size. The narrower the mesh, the denser and stronger the bag. The burlap bag can be closed with different closing methods such as a closing cord, or by sewing.
